Torrance Centennial Plaza at El Prado Park
1912 - 2012
Centennial Plaza includes a time capsule, benches, landscaping and
personalized commemorative bricks. The Plaza is located in the original
footprint of the City at the Cravens Avenue end of El Prado Park in Old
El Prado Park was the first "parkland" in Torrance, and was designed by
Fredrick Law Olmsted, Jr. (Olmsted Brothers), one of the premier landscape
architects of the 20th century who was hired by Jared Sidney Torrance to
design the Modern Industrial City we call Torrance.
The plaza was dedicated on Sunday, September 16th, 2012.
